Roll a D3 to get a random number between 1 and 3.
A D3 (three-sided die) generates a random number between 1 and 3. While physical three-sided dice exist, they're uncommon—most players simulate a d3 by rolling a d6 and dividing by 2 (rounding up). This virtual dice roller makes d3 rolls simple and accurate.
Each result on a D3 has an equal probability of 33.33% (1/3):
| Result | Probability |
|---|---|
| 1 | 33.33% |
| 2 | 33.33% |
| 3 | 33.33% |
The expected average roll is 2 when rolling a single D3.
If you don't have a virtual d3 roller, you can simulate one:
